Emma Frost Costumes: The White Queen Halloween Costume Ideas
The best Emma Frost costume ideas on the Internet.
Different Emma Frost Costumes
First appearing in an Uncanny X-Men book in early 1980, Emma Frost is one of the most-beloved of all comic book characters not to mention one of the most popular members of the X-Men and regularly tops the list of the sexiest comic book characters of all time. Emma Frost is an interesting character because she started out as the White Queen, a villain and foe of the X-Men but is now a core member of that famous comic book force.
Emma Frost has an awesome set of mutant powers that, combined with her gorgeous body, make her one of the more popular characters in any comic book universe. Emma Frost can use telepathy, mind control, mental bolts, can paralyze people with her mind, cast illusions, use astral projection, and in later books earned the ability to shapeshift into a diamond form that grants her superhuman strength.
Emma Frost is gaining in popularity thanks to the X-Men
movies. Her sexy look is perfect for Halloween or any other costume
parties. Here are some ideas for Emma Frost costumes.
White Queen of the Hellfire Club Costumes
Emma Frost's original incarnation was as the White Queen of the Hellfire Club, the role that saw her in opposition of the X-Men. In her role as the White Queen, she ran the Massachusetts Academy, a foil to the School for Gifted Youngsters that produced the X-Men. She often tried to kidnap and torture members of the School for Gifted Youngsters in this capacity.
As the White Queen, Emma Frost wears all white--very tight white lingerie (a sexy bodice), thigh high white boots with a tall heel, a white cape with white fur trim, and a beautiful white necklace of pearls and diamonds.
Emma Frost in Diamond Form
This would be a difficult costume to design and build on your own--Emma Frost goes into diamond form for superhuman strength and durability. She is shown shining, glittering like a giant diamond, a beautiful shining white color that covers her entire body, including her face. A white bodysuit covered in sparkles or glitter might do, but to cover the entire face and head, you'd have to find a Lycra body suit like the kind used to make "Green Man" costumes at sporting events.
How to Make Your Own Emma Frost Costume
Unless you're a seamstress or costumer, putting together your own Emma Frost costume is going to mean buying items that match. Rather than wear expensive (and uncomfortable) lingerie, you can probably find a fake "cami" or "bodice" with a zip-front at a costume shop or online. Make yourself a cape out of white fabric (cut it the length from your neck to the floor) and top it with costume fur. Throw in a skirt, a white belt, white boots (thigh high for authenticity), and long white sexy gloves and you're Emma Frost.
Emma Frost Couples Costume Ideas
If your girlfriend is going out as Emma Frost, you want to match her don't you? Or, if there's a small group of female friends hitting the costume party, don't you want to all go as one sexy Emma Frost unit?
Luckily for girls who want to pull off an Emma Frost match-fest, Emma Frost has two sisters. Adrienne and Cordelia are not a huge feature of the comic book universe, but they do exist. Consider wearing similar outfits as Emma Frost, but in slightly different colors, like silver, black, gold, etc.
If you want to match Emma Frost with a male costume, consider going out as Sabretooth, the X-Men member that Emma Frost teamed up with when she moved over to the "hero" side from her former role as a villain.
Alternative Emma Frost Costumes
Like most modern comic book characters (and lots of classic
characters, too) Emma Frost exists in lots of cool alternate versions.
There's a "steampunk" Emma Frost that appeared in Earth-889. Emma Frost
teamed up with X-Men characters Beast, Scott, and Logan.
To create a "steampunk" style Emma Frost, stick with the original costume but consider adding some classic steampunk embellishments. Anything to turn the costume into "Victorian style" is appropriate, and considering the awesome lingerie and women's undergarments during the Victorian period, it shouldn't be too hard.
In the series Marvel Noir, Emma Frost is reinvented as a doctor at a mental institution. She also just happens to be a doctor secretly into bondage, leaving the door open for all sorts of interesting costume additions. Whips, chains, leather, pretty much anything goes--just remember to give it a 1930s flair.
X-Campus Emma Frost would be a great costume if you like the "sexy schoolgirl" look. In X-Campus, classic Marvel characters appear as school-age versions of themselves. Do I really have to tell you how to turn Emma Frost into a schoolgirl? Combine her standard costume with a slutty schoolgirl skirt and a hair bow and you're all set. Throw in some accessories . . . a yardstick, a cheerleader pom pom, or just a regular old backpack, and be prepared to explain to non comic book nerds why Emma Frost is a schoolgirl.
Rumors of an Emma Frost movie have been around for years--currently the project is looking for producers and funding. If that movie is made, interest in all things Emma Frost will skyrocket, and there will be more (and better) commercially produced costumes. Until then, building your own Emma Frost costume isn't all that hard, and will likely make you the talk of your costume party.
